Workers' Compensation Attorney

With a history of helping people....

Workers Compensation Photo In the Commonwealth of Kentucky, claims arising from a workplace injury are governed by a complex set of statutes known as the Workers' Compensation Act. The Act is administered by the Department of Workers' Claims, a division of the Kentucky Labor Cabinet. Under state law, workers' compensation is an "exclusive remedy", which means that employees generally do not have the right to sue their employers in civil court for damages. If a settlement cannot be reached in a workers' compensation dispute, the next step is to file an application for adjustment with the Department of Workers' Claims. After the application is filed, the case is assigned to an Administrative Law Judge, and after a period of litigation, a final hearing is held if the parties are still unable to reach a settlement.

Peace Of Mind

At The Curt Davis Law Office, we understand that dealing with a serious work injury can be overwhelming. In today's economy, good jobs are difficult to find and every paycheck counts. If you have been hurt on the job, it may seem as though everything you have worked hard to achieve is threatened. Unfortunately, many employers and their insurance companies are often unhelpful, if not downright hostile, to the injured worker after a workers' compensation claim has been filed.

Let us provide you with peace of mind during this difficult time.

Our Commitment To You

The good news is that if you have been injured on the job, you have certain rights. As your attorneys, it is the job of The Curt Davis Law Office to ensure those rights are protected so that you can obtain the medical treatment necessary to heal and support yourself and your family while you are off work. All workers' compensation cases are handled on a contingency fee basis, and we do not receive compensation unless you do. If you have been injured on the job, please call us. Initial consultations are free, and if you are unable to travel, we will arrange to meet you at a convenient location.
